Carina Sarracino Candidate for Assembly (Maxwell) |
My name is Carina Sarracino, and I am writing to express my strong interest in the position of
Student Association Assembly At-Large Representative. I am a sophomore within the Maxwell
School studying political science and international relations with a minor in philosophy. I am
extremely passionate about government and public policy and feel as if I can utilize this
background, in conjunction with other skills and extracurricular activities, to be an ideal addition
to this fundamental organization. The ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds is a skill I have fostered throughout years of involvement in various organizations. Beginning in high school, I have led and worked amongst teams as senior editor of yearbook, feature editor of a school newspaper, secretary of student council, and treasurer of National Honors Society. Since coming to Syracuse University, I have worked to progress this involvement. I serve the SU community as a member of the student advisory council and panhellenic judicial board. I hope to expand upon these experiences as an assembly representative to make Syracuse a comfortable and safe environment for all students to prosper in. Though skills and experiences may make me technically qualified for this position, I most desire this opportunity to serve as a voice for the students. Proper advocacy is an imperative element of a university to ensure all students feel represented and accounted for. I hope to work alongside the incredibly dedicated team of students within the Student Association to help students from all backgrounds feel supported and appreciated at SU. |
