Noah Richard
Candidate for Assembly (VPA)
My name is Noah Colin O’Neill Richard, sophomore, and I recently transferred into the College of Visual and Performing Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences. I major in art video and ethics and I am hoping to make a difference in my community any way possible. Although I started classes in VPA this semester, I found my passion within the school and I would not want anything to change that. Since I started my sophomore year I got stuck with a lot of freshmen and people I did not know. I had to try to meet a lot of new people which was harder than I expected, especially in a big classroom with a hundred or so kids. My intention, if elected, would be for these classrooms to start out in smaller classrooms, say for discussion groups or an ice breaker, which would be a great way to meet people. Not to mention that you will have someone to sit next to in a big auditorium. At the very least it will build some confidence and get you in the mindset of getting acquainted with your peers. Another idea, is to have the ability to access the adobe suite for free. We as students pay a pretty penny to come here and the school still expects us to pay for things that are essential to us. The adobe suite includes all adobe applications such as premiere pro, after effects, photoshop, and other programs that are needed for students to create just about anything. I find it ridiculous that the school stopped paying for it and expects each student to pay 15 dollars a month. Asking us to pay for this is like asking us to pay for laundry... My final idea would be to collaborate with other colleges on campus. I think it would be a cool experiment to mix and match the talents of let’s say an advertising major with someone in film. This would create the best product for everyone as the film major gets to record something that the advertising major can promote. It’s the best of both worlds and it’s another great way to meet more people!

Zeyu Chen
Candidate for Assembly (VPA)
My name is Zeyu Chen and I’ m a International from China. You can call me Leo. My Major is film and I am a sophomore of Visual and performing arts. VPA is a college full of creativity, Which is also a reason why I’ m here to run for the Visual & Performing Arts Representatives. The first idea would be, if I’m elected, to make it easier for students to make project together. Nowadays, most of students only do projects with their own department, which is limited and lack of communication between other departments of VPA. By creating several interest groups For VPA students, students would have more chance to get to know the people from other departments. For example, interest group like music film, we can bring both students from film major and students from music major. Similarly, there are many option for the groups.

Cage are a very important method to get expensive equipment for VPA students. But there are many students who claimed that Cage is inconvenient. This brings my second idea: make cage more convenient for students. In order to achieve that, we should make a new plan for the borrowing of equipments. Students can only borrow equipments for two days maximum every time. My idea is that we can select those who return equipment undamaged on time, and give them more time using the devices. It can not only encourage students to return it on time, but also help students have more chances in using the equipment.
